Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Chennai, India

The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible to specify, design, and develop innovative mechanical and mechatronic components of our film scanners. Together with the R&D team, you will evaluate and optimize solutions and components in the context of complex and highly precise machines. You will have to work with the team throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial drawings to prototyping, testing and ultimately final development of the product.

As a mechanical engineer you make a significant contribution to the development and maintenance on complex and long-term hardware projects. The Mechanical Design Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary and multi-country development team including experts from different backgrounds in film, software, electronics, mechanical design, and image processing experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the R&D Team to expedite the development of projects from the inception stage up until the production stage, covering all aspects related to mechanical engineering
  
• Develop innovative and efficient mechanical designs in cooperation with the R&D team
  
• Further development of ideas and prototypes to be more efficient, reliable, and safe final products
  
• Designing, specifying, and prototyping new state of the art products and to be able to see the design all the way through production.
  
• Active participation in the specification process for internal projects and projects with external partners

• Innovator at heart; highly motivated to learn new and market-moving technology, and experiment/thinker with ideas to build game-changing products.
• Previous experience with designing and prototyping high end industrial grade products
  
• Applicants should be well organized and have excellent verbal and written communication skills in english
  
• Confident use of Modern CAD tools like SolidWorks and designs should be very clear and thorough
  
• Ability to work on one’s own initiative to push forward the topics
  
• A passion for complex high-tech systems like our film scanners.
  
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in industrial mechanical development
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
