Vertical Overscanning
Vertical Overscanning
The image can be over scanned by up to 25% higher and contains partly content of the previous and the next frame.
This allows the user to correct for inaccurately spliced films facilitating correction later on in post production.
Unlike with optical zoom, the Scanity DPX files contain more lines and more pixels as a consequence of over scanning and this allows the selected image area in full 4K resolution to maintain the dots-per-inch resolution (always 6 micron pitch film related) in 1:1 sizing mode.
