Following the successful beta test of DFT’s Scanity 2 film scanner, Kodak/Digital Orchard are bringing the system into full production. They have also ordered a second unit for deployment at another facility at the earliest opportunity. 

Kodak/Digital Orchard received the first Scanity 2 in early June 2026, initiating the system’s first customer beta test. During the test phase, they evaluated the scanner extensively within their established workflows and operating environment. Working closely with DFT engineers, Kodak/Digital Orchard assessed Scanity 2’s performance, reliability, and integration into production.

The qualification phase delivered highly positive results. Callum Just, CEO Digital Orchard Group Ltd., shared the following assessment: 

“We have gained very positive results during our beta-testing phase and greatly appreciate the significant improvements and new features of the Scanity 2 compared to our Scanity 1. We have decided to start productive operation of the Scanity 2 and have ordered a second unit of Scanity 2 for our other operational facilities for earliest deployment. It has been a pleasure working with DFT on this project, and we are happy to have been able to substantially contribute to this new state of the art in film scanning. It is an honor to be the first in the market with Scanity 2.”
